Our History
The Junior Woman’s Club of Ramsey (JWCR) was founded in 1966 by Barbara Chamberlin and a small group of motivated women who were a part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the largest nonpartisan, nondenominational, women's volunteer service organizations. Today JWCR continues to grow and evolve to serve – with hearts and hands – the needs of Ramsey’s citizens and organizations, as well as select institutions in the state of New Jersey and abroad.
Our Club
The Junior Woman's Club of Ramsey is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Our members are dedicated, diversified and fun-loving women who are motivated to improving and supporting our community through volunteer service. We strive to improve the quality of life for those in need, near and far, while continuing to foster the friendships that enhance our personal lives.
Our Motto is ". . . with hearts and hands we serve. . ."
We are actively involved in many events within the town of Ramsey such as Ramsey Day, Relay for Life, Touch a Truck, Pumpkin Painting, and Holiday Giving Tree. In addition, we organize many fundraisers such as Comedy Night, Tag Sales, Spring Fling, and Bunco Nights. We raise thousand of dollars a year that benefit many Ramsey Organizations such as Ramsey Responds, the Fire Department, the Ambulance Corps, Ramsey Rescue, the Ramsey Library, the Fine Arts Council, the Senior Center, the Ramsey Pool and more.
We also provide a wonderful social outlet for our members and their families and consider ourselves a great starting place for families that are new to Ramsey. We have many fun events for adults like Progressive Dinner and Grill Off and for the children events like pumpkin picking and holiday parties. Our club is a great way to give back to our community and make great friends.
